DUTHIE & BULL were ship builders and entrepreneurs, whose ships the Ballarat and Hovding transported Scandinavian migrants to New Zealand in the early 1870s. Those adventurous pioneers established themselves in settlements now known as Norsewood and Dannevirke in the heart of New Zealand's Tararua District.
